Do you think making your own naan bread to enjoy with your curry is difficult or requires a lot of time? Then think again! These 2 Ingredient Naan Breads are very easy to make and are ready in no time! Two ingredients is all you need: Self-raising flour and yoghurt! So – without further ado, let´s get into this recipe for 2 Ingredient Naan Breads!
How Are These 2 Ingredient Naan Breads Made?
It could not be easier to make these 2 ingredient naan breads! All you need to is combine equal amounts of self-raising flour and Greek yoghurt to make a dough and you are ready to go!
Work the two ingredients together and give the dough a brief knead. Then divide the dough into portions and roll out into that classic tear-drop naan bread shape.
To cook the 2 Ingredient Naan Breads, you´ll need a hot non-stick frying or griddle pan (with no oil)! The naan breads are cooked on the hot surface for a few minutes on each side until they have puffed up, are cooked through and they have those characteristic black spots!

Keep Them Plain Or Add a Mouth-Watering Topping!
Whilst these naan breads also taste great when plain (and could be used as a pizza base etc.) it is also great to add some flavour to them!
By adding a few extra ingredients (which you will probably have at home anyway), you can absolutely transform these naan breads and take them to the next level!
BUTTER OR OLIVE OIL
It all starts with a little butter… We all know adding butter makes everything better, and these 2 ingredient naan breads are no exception. Melt a bit of butter (alternatively, use olive oil) and brush it over the naan breads whilst they are still warm!
SALTY NAAN
Add some ground salt (and/or pepper) to the melted butter and brush it over the naan breads.
GARLIC NAAN
You can never have to much garlic if you ask me! And who doesn´t love a garlic naan? To the melted butter (as described above), you could also add a minced glove of garlic to spread over these homemade easy-peasy naan breads!
GARLIC AND CORIANDER NAAN (MY FAVOURITE)
An absolute classic combination and one of my absolute favourites: Garlic and Coriander Naans (see pictures). For this version, I add some finely chopped coriander, a pinch of salt and a clove of minced garlic to the melted butter, before using a silicone brush to spread it over the warm naan breads! You could also use some finely chopped parsley as an alternative!
Can You Freeze These Naan Breads?
Yes – You can freeze these naan breads!
Any naan breads you don´t eat can be frozen and reheated at another time! If you are wanting to freeze the naans, I would recommend leaving them plain before freezing.
Leave to cool completely, then place them into a freezer bag. Defrost when needed and reheat them in the oven at 150°C for 10-15 minutes wrapped in tin foil. If you then want to add some flavour, brush some melted butter (with garlic, coriander, etc. see above) once they are warm!
N.B. Don´t try re-heating them in the microwave – they´ll go solid as a brick! Trust me… I´ve tried…

2 Ingredient Naan Breads
Recipe
Ingredients (makes 6):
- 250g self-raising flour
- 250g Greek yoghurt (full-fat and fat-free works)
Optional:
- 50g butter, melted
- salt/pepper
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- finely chopped coriander
Method:
- In a bowl, combine the self-raising flour and Greek yoghurt. Mix with your hands and start working until it starts to come together into a ball.
- Turn the two-ingredient dough onto a floured surface and work/knead it for a minute or two until it becomes soft and smooth.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal portions.
- On a floured surface, use a floured rolling pin (or just your hands) to flatten and shape the dough into a classic tear-drop naan bread shape. Make sure they are not too thick (about half a centimetre is what you are after) to ensure they cook through! They will puff up more whilst they are cooking (since you are using self-raising flour).
- Place a non-stick frying or griddle pan over a high heat. Once hot, cook each naan bread (1 or 2 at a time, depending on how big your frying pan is) for about 2-3 minutes on each side in total. Flip them more than once during this time to ensure they don´t burn (you want some black spots but don´t want to cremate them…).
- Once cooked, place the naan breads onto a plate and cover with tin foil to keep them soft and warm whilst you cook the others.
- If you are wanting to add some extra flavour, brush over the melted butter (with additional ingredients of your choice) over the naan breads using a silicone brush before covering them with tin foil). Check out the video to see more topping ideas.
